Where and when does SU Alumni HomeChapter hold its meetings?The SU Alumni Home Chapter holds its meetings at the Martin Luther King Catholic Center, located at 586 Harding Blvd., Baton Rouge, LA 70807. The meetings take place every first Wednesday of the month. For the convenience of our members, we also provide the option to join our meetings online via Zoom. This allows individuals who may not be able to attend in person to still participate and stay connected with the community. Whether you prefer to attend in person or virtually, our chapter strives to make our meetings accessible to all.

How do I become a member of SU Alumni HomeChapter?To become a member of SU Alumni HomeChapterBR, simply go to the Membership page on our website and fill out the form. The cost of membership is $50 annually, and there is a $2 online fee. Once you have submitted your information and payment, you will have access to all the benefits of being a member, including exclusive discounts, event invites, and access to our community resources.

Are my donations etc. tax deductible?Yes, donations are tax deductible.

Is the Home Chapter involved in the community?Yes, the Home Chapter donates Thanksgiving dinners to CASA, Haunted Trails, and the Santa Roadshow.

Is the SU Alumni Home Chapter a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization?Yes, the chapter is a 501(c) 3 organization.

Can I join the Home Chapter if I didn't graduate from Southern University?Yes, you can join the Home Chapter if you didn't graduate, the chapter is open to graduates as well as lovers of SU.

What fundraising events does the Home Chapter have?The chapter has the following fundraising events: * Scholarship Black Ball * Crawfish Boil and Music Festival * Jaguar Jamboree * Bayou Classic Ticket Fundraiser

Does the Home Chapter volunteer on campus?Yes, the chapter participates in Freshman Move-In Day annually, at graduation, and at the SUAF tailgate tent, etc.
